IB Subjects Hub

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is organized into six subject groups. Every student must choose one subject from each group, selecting a combination of Higher Level (HL) and Standard Level (SL) courses. Explore each group below to understand what to expect and how to succeed.

Group 1: Language & Literature

Group 1 studies your native language through literary and non-literary texts. At HL, you analyze 13 works; at SL, 9 works. Key assessments include the Individual Oral, the HL Essay, and two written exams. Strong analytical writing and close reading skills are essential for success.

Group 2: Language Acquisition

Group 2 covers a second language at varying levels (Ab Initio, Language B SL/HL). You develop communication, comprehension, and cultural awareness through speaking, listening, reading and writing. Assessments include oral exams, written productions, and reading/listening papers. Consistent vocabulary practice and exposure are key to success.

Group 3: Individuals & Societies

Group 3 explores how humans interact with the world: subjects like History, Geography, Economics, Psychology, Business Management, Global Politics, and more. You build critical thinking, source analysis, and essay-writing skills. Assessments combine internal investigations with rigorous written exams. Strong reading and structured argumentation are essential.
